Unfortunately we have run out of time to get everything in place for 2011, so we have deferred our run at this until 2012 which will give us the extra time we need to get everything on track. We are still actively looking for additional sponsors for the Dakar 2012 rally and this can be a great event for local Canadian companies to achieve some world-wide exposure. For 2011, ERE Logistics will be stepping outside of it’s normal realm and will be assisting Lawrence Hacking of Ontario with his goal of being the first Canadian to finish the Dakar Rally in a four wheel vehicle. Previously Lawrence finished the race on a motorcycle and this will be his second attempt on a four wheel vehicle.
To assist Lawrence ERE will be providing a full support truck to help ensure a success this time through. Of course this can be an expensive venture, so ERE will be looking for funding from outside sources to accomplish this task.
To raise the funds, space on both the ERE Logistics support vehicle and Lawrence Hacking’s four wheel drive vehicle will be sold. For more information on how you or your company can be involved check out the promotional video below.
Here’s another great video that shows some of the gruelling challenges that faced some of the drivers in the 2003 Dakar and some of the beautiful scenery they saw. Not this was when the race was still being held in Africa, so some of the scenery in South America will be different!
